About Us

Amano is a registered Disabled Students Allowance Non-Medical Help Provider based in Devon. We deliver Specialist Learning Support, One-To-One Mentors and Assistive Technology Training to students receiving the Disabled Students Allowance in higher education across the South West region.

In order to ensure that students receive a high quality service in the Disabled Students Allowances (DSA) process, the Department for Education (DfE) recommend that funding bodies, use only providers who are registered with the Disabled Students Allowances Quality Assurance Group (DSA-QAG).

To become a registered member of DSA-QAG we have demonstrated that we meet quality criteria as specified by DSA-QAG.

We also provide learning support services directly to Universities and Colleges for students who are not in receipt of DSA and who are receiving assistance from their institution’s own Disability Services.

Our Learning Support Consultants are thoroughly screened for their suitability to work in learning support. Professionally qualified and trained, our consultants are experienced in helping students with disabilities in higher education fulfil their academic potential.

We understand that putting good quality student support in place is a team effort.  By working closely with local HEI’s, disability teams and assessors and by always putting the student’s needs first, our joined- up approach ensures that all our stakeholders needs are met.
